About the Author
Barry Loudermilk is a native of Georgia, born and raised in Riverdale, a small community south of Atlanta. Barry’s father was a WWII veteran; and, after returning home from the war, became a construction contractor. His dad had a deep interest in Biblical theology and American history which had a significant influence on Barry. His mother was a homemaker and worked in retail sales.
Barry is the youngest of three children, with a sister and brother who were in their teens when he was born. In his early years as the only child living at home, Barry had a close relationship with his dad and often followed him around on side construction and maintenance projects, learning the value of hard work at a young age. During these times with his father, Barry listened to his dad tell stories about the Bible, WWII, the history of the world and the foundations of our nation. As his dad shared his wisdom and knowledge, Barry’s faith and patriotism grew strong. In the coming years, Barry would study the Bible, our founding documents, and the lives of America’s heroes. Through his research, Barry became an influential voice on America’s foundations and heritage.
After over two decades as a small business owner, Barry's community activism resulted in his becoming county Republican Party Chairman, followed by terms in the Georgia State House and Senate. In 2014, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing northwest Georgia.
Today, Barry shares inspirational stories of his life, and of others who have faced insurmountable odds and persevered, and how God uses these times to make us stronger.
Barry is an avid outdoorsman, a veteran, an historian, an inspirational speaker, an author, a public servant, and a patriot who loves God, his family, and his country dearly. Barry resides in northwest Georgia with his wife, Desiree. They have three grown children, and seven grandchildren.
